E-TAPOK - A FAESO Virtual General Assembly

Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” In the annual General Assembly of the Federation of Accredited Extracurricular Student Organizations (FAESO), success was indeed envisioned as the mother organization together with its seven administered organizations, united towards a friendly and insightful “E-TAPOK” via Zoom to create camaraderie and good rapport among the university’s functional orgs amidst the COVID19 pandemic.

Commemorating the mandatory rule USTP gives much importance back in the days of face-to-face classes, the virtual assembly anchored to the theme ‘No ID, No Entry’ to stress the importance of experiencing again what it was like before the virus. The said assembly highlighted FAESO’s fruitful reason behind continually serving excellence to the university and emphasized the true essence of a great leader through the presentation of its Code of Conduct and Constitution and by Laws. This academic year’s Calendar of Activities was also presented, proving once again that the pandemic will not hinder the organization’s dedication to serve the university and its student body. The virtual convention was made more special and memorable with the presence of The Board of Directors and Executive Body from the unit organizations of FAESO namely Leadership and Development Society (LEADSOC), Peer Group Society (PGS), USTP Chess Enthusiasts (UCE), University City Scholars (UCS), Forerunners, Red Cross Youth – USTP (RCY) and the new organizations namely USTP – DOST-SEI Scholars Guild – UDSSG and Development Student Clubs USTP – DSC – USTP.

“It was my first time attending the FAESO General Assembly/E-Tapok which was held via Zoom with us at our own homes, but despite the distance from each other, FAESO still managed to make E-Tapok a memorable one. Everything was explained briefly and concisely. Most importantly, they did not forget to loosen the participants up by having Zumba in the last part that brought smiles and laughter in our faces, followed by a little chikahan with the FAESO Moderator, Sir Giovanni Cagurin,” Arianna Rufila, a FAESO Junior Deputy said as she shared her experience during the online gathering of organizations.

The success of FAESO’s virtual assembly serves as an epitome of true leadership, that even in this time of crisis, a true leader will sparks its service to the people. Empowered with its mission, vision, goals, and objective, FAESO will never be off-track from its willful path of sincerity to serve the university and the community. Above all, FAESO believes in cooperation, equal rights, transparency, and true service. Truly, we aspire to work towards a better tomorrow.
