Last Saturday, January 12, 2018, secretaries or representatives from across unit organizations were invited alongside with the deputy writers to attend the PANUDLO: Writer’s Workshop. This was done at Bldg. 25 inside the university’s premises. This purpose of this workshop is to equip them with proper knowledge in making and classify paperwork not only for the good of their respective organizations but also for the future opportunities to come.
Ms. Garcia, FAESO President, sparsely exposed beforehand what are to be done for the whole duration of the workshop. The session was divided into two. Mr. Jey Mart Cuyag was the speaker for the first part followed by Mr. Arvin Narvaza, taking the other half.
Accordingly, the workshop is of two importances. The first part is designed specifically for the secretaries, both general and associates. Part 2 then is a special discussion targeted mainly for the deputy writers.
Mr. Cuyag, FAESO General Secretary, discussed about technical writing inclusive of secretariat documentations like memorandum, letters, minutes, resolution, and policy making. The speaker comprehensibly elaborated each document making processes. In each of the subparts of the session, participants were able to write their respective outputs with the guidance of the speaker himself.
Continuing, Mr. Narvaza, University Senior High School Faculty and former writer at Yahoo! Southeast Asia, discussed on article writing with special attention on news writing. He also shares some tips and techniques on how to make an appropriate, precise yet information-robust article, answering related questions from the audience.
The workshop ended late in the afternoon and a total of 11 participants participated in the said workshop.
