The GYS Seed Grant Competition is an annual event which aims to promote youth's engagement in contributing to the real-life problems in the 21st Century where organizations from around the country with sustainable programs are open to participate. FAESO's Yaka:Kaya on the other hand is among the top five organizations who are chosen over the multiple applicants under the category of creating safe spaces against violence for children and youth.

Yaka:Kaya is a sustainable program that intends to develop a safe space for young individuals particularly to engage, learn and share. It is created to provide schools a no-cost venue and a safe place for the students that allow them to freely express their thoughts and feelings to same people with interests and to interact with experts and facilitators.

It has been a privilege for the organization to be part of such big event and share their advocacy for a bigger chance of helping more people. This is what one of the representatives, Shiloh Mae Maghinay, shared in her experience saying, "We fought for YAKA; KAYA at the Global Youth Summit not for ourselves, not for the organization, but for the people we will be able to help and for those who need it most, hence, it has been a great privilege to represent for the organization, for YAKA; KAYA, and the youth.”
