UDA: 2018 on Stills

To engage more people on the importance of learning digital medium, the University Digital Arts (UDA) conducts Still Graphics Workshop 2018 last November 25 at Building 9-206 Computer Laboratory led by Jace Mizel Alojacin and Lance Christopher Amil.


As UDA promotes "Explore, Engage and Inspire" on its constituents, the workshop series was successfully conducted. Officers of the said organization shared their knowledge on Digital Arts to their members on which a total of 26 participated in the said workshop. Series of discussions and activities from different speaker then allowed the participants to learn and get to experience the hands-on activities that showcased what they have learned.


Nik Cyrell Yabo, UDA President, discussed the definition of Still Graphics, Basic Tools of Photoshop and the Principles of Design on which he highlighted the requisite elements, not just to make a great-looking design but also to properly convey the right message while displaying harmony on the design.


On the other hand, Joshua Calipayan, Art Director of Still Graphics, elaborated the advanced application of Photoshop and poster making. He illustrated how multiple basic stuffs could make a complex product. He also emphasized that only with the use of creativity could you make something complex out of simplicity. His hands-on activity serves as an entry for the UDA contest.


Lastly, Lee Archimedes, Art Director of Still Graphics, demonstrated the whole new level of creativity in Photoshop, tackling on photo manipulation. At the end of his session, a hands-on activity was done which also serves as an entry for UDA contest.


The University Digital Arts hopes to engage the mind of students through design and art by providing them the skills. This includes 3D or 2D still and vector graphics, motion graphics, videography, and photography. They aimed to develop a great sense of welfare for the university in making the learners pursue their passion.
